Donna spent the first fifteen years of her professional life as a single mom, climbing the corporate ladder in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry. She became the first female Vice President of a large Fortune 100 Insurance Brokerage firm, even having had an opportunity to sit in a “box” at Lloyds of London, where the insurance profession first began.
Donna is a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Glendale College with a Degree in business administration. She also has completed the five-year Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU), the most prestigious degree in the Property & Casualty insurance profession.
Upon meeting her dentist husband, Nelson Krum, she left the insurance business and began using her managerial & marketing skills in the dental profession. It was “love at first sight” for both Dr. Krum AND the dental profession, which is as true today as it was thirty years ago!
She is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, nicknamed “The Chamber Cheerleader”, and is currently serving her third term on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. She is also the 2023-2024 Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Saipan, and a long-time member of the Soroptimist International of the Northern Marianas organization. In addition, she is the Vice-Chair of the Blue Ribbon Initiative, which is tasked with combatting the Drug & Alcohol addiction problem in the CNMI. She also serves as liaison for the Grief Community and the
Al-Anon/Nar-Anon community for the CNMI, having lost her daughter, Kristen, in 2005 to a long battle with mental illness and drug addiction. She lives a joyful & productive life today, and a life of service, in honor of her daughter.
Donna is a life-long learner and is passionate about continuing to learn something new every day and encouraging others to do the same! Her professional motto is to “Show up and Play Nice”. You just don’t want to miss anything along the journey!
In addition to dentistry, her passion is Health & Wellness and everything about
Anti-Aging. She is quick to say “she knows more than she practices!” She is a true history buff and “Dog Mommy” to her and Dr. Krum’s eight Boonie dogs, Sully, Scooter, Stella, Sophie, Sammie Dee, Stormy, Sadie & the new pup, Shelby!
She and Dr. Krum fell in love with Saipan and its people the minute they stepped off the United flight in 2013! Coming from Denver, Colorado, adjusting to the weather here, “took another minute!”
